The 2026 Toyota GR Corolla carries over with minimal changes this year. Changes include an updated trim lineup, the Core trim gets a rename and the Premium trim has been dropped for this year.
The 2026 Corolla continues to be the excellent value proposition that has made it a hit for more than five decades. With reasonable pricing, the Corolla offers virtually everything a car owner realistically needs. The Corolla is far more than basic transportation these days, offering a big dose of entertainment along with a good amount of luxury should buyers want that. Despite this, even the most expensive trim level proves that value exists everywhere in the Corolla line, no matter what the details are. The 2026 GR Corolla is a worthy competitor to the Honda Civic Type R and Mazda 3 Turbo.
The 2026 all-wheel drive Toyota GR Corolla hatchback is offered in two trim levels, Base and Premium Plus. It is powered by a 1.6L turbocharged 3-cylinder engine mated to either a 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission that produces 300 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft of torque. Even the base GR Corolla is well equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights and daytime running lights, mirrors with turn signal indicators, sport bucket front seats, an 8-inch touchscreen, adaptive cruise control, and an HD Satellite radio. The Premium Plus adds front and rear painted calipers, a rear spoiler, heated front seats, dual-zone front automatic climate control, an 8-speaker sound system, voice-activated navigation with real-time traffic and weather, wireless device charging, heads-up display, front and rear parking sensors, and a heated leather wrapped sport steering wheel. Safety features include 10 airbags, active lane departure, blind spot warning, forward collision mitigation with left turn assist, rear collision warning, front pedestrian detection, a driver attention alert, and a traffic sign information system.
