2024 Toyota Crown Review

The Toyota Crown comes with one of two basic powertrain configurations. The Crown is powered by a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine that produces 184 horsepower with the electric motor the horsepower increases to 236 horsepower mated to a CVT transmission. The second powertrain option is a turbocharged 2.4L 4-cylinder engine that produces 264 horsepower or 340 when combined with the electric motors mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The Crown comes in four different trim levels: XLE, Limited, Nightshade Edition, and Platinum. Being a fairly luxurious vehicle, the base XLE still comes very nicely equipped. Standard items include a 12.3-inch touchscreen, blind spot monitoring system, rear cross-traffic alert system, forward collision braking with pedestrian detection, driver attention alert, traffic sign recognition, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, Toyota's Entune App Suite, full LED headlights with auto high-beams, LED taillights, heated power exterior mirrors, 19-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, 8-way power heated and cooled front seats, 12.3-inch multi-information display for the driver, radar controlled dynamic cruise control with traffic stop and go, and a smart key. The Limited adds a fixed glass sunroof, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, leather seats, driver seat memory, and an 11-speaker sound system. The Platinum sits at the top of the lineup with paddle shifters, an adaptive suspension, black exterior accents, 21-inch wheels, ambient lighting, surround view cameras, and automated parking sensors. The Toyota Avalon comes fully loaded with standard safety equipment like Lane Departure Alert, Blind Spot Monitoring, Pre-Collision System, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Pre-Collision System with pedestrian detection and Vehicle Sway Warning.

2024 Toyota Tacoma Review

The Toyota Tacoma is available in an XtraCab 4x2 and XtraCab 4x4 both with a 6-foot box and a Double Cab 4x2 and 4x4 with both a 5- and 6-foot box in multiple trims. Two engines are available depending on the trim, a 2.4L intercooled turbo 4-cylinder producing 228 or 278 horsepower. The Tacoma Hybrid is available in a 4x4 Double Cab with a 5- or 6-foot box and uses the same 2.4L engine that adds an electric motor that increases the power to 326 horsepower. Standard features include a skid plate, heated side mirrors, LED headlights, 17-inch wheels, air conditioning, a satellite radio, an 8-inch touchscreen, adaptive cruise control, wireless device connectivity, 3 USB ports, push button start, a 7-inch gauge cluster, and a class IV hitch. The Limited trim adds paddle shifters, hill hold control, power running boards, power tailgate, a bed extender, a rail system, a power sunroof, chrome mirrors with integrated turn signals, chrome exterior accents, LED fog lights, 18-inch wheels, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, heated and cooled power front seats, automatic dual-zone climate control, a 9-speaker sound system, a 14-inch touchscreen, adaptive cruise control with traffic stop-go, a garage door transmitter, wireless device charging, a 12.3-inch gauge cluster, a head-up display, surround view camera, and a heated leather steering wheel. Standard safety features include active lane departure, forward collision mitigation, front pedestrian detection and traffic sign information. Higher level trims also add blind spot warning, and a rear collision warning.
